December in St-George

It's been awhile since I posted, and I guess that means things have been busier!

At the beginning of the month we had a visit from my sister Karen, and she was the one to discover Tessa's first two teeth had popped through!

We had a lovely long-weekend, and went to the Christmas market in Lausanne, all wrapped up in winter woolies.

After she left, we had the first snowfall.

Tessa got festive....

and excited....

And the snow continues to fall.... 40 cm this morning!

Have a great week and Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all ye Americans! I'm sure you will have a wonderful weekend and feast. I am especially thinking of my parents enjoying it with Laurie today in Iowa. Here we are planning a meal with friends tomorrow night, but with the current general health in the home it may not be possible!

(I started this post yesterday, when it was still Thanksgiving, so ignore the tense misktakes!)

Yes, Tessa is experiencing her first cold, and is sneezing, sniffling and coughing all over the place. Sleeping and feeding have been tricky but she's been coping ok. As long as she has her dummy, dog and a book she's quite happy...

I have been realising there is not much on this blog that is not related to Tessa, and I promise you we do other things too, but at the moment nothing else seems as fun to brag about than her, and it is especially for the benefit of far-away aunts uncles and grandparents who don't seem to mind the overload of Tessa info. So for the rest of you, feel free to ignore it when it gets too much! And maybe sometime soon I will realise there are other things to blog about too.

But for now...

This picture is in reference to my dear sister's post 'Baby Quilts' http://ljwatkin.blogspot.com/2011/11/baby-quilts.html Tessa has been enjoying this quilt in many different ways, and her parents love it too! It is her 'tummy time' spot at home, and she has been sleeping on it too recently. She also lies quietly on it on the floor at union meeting for 2 2-hour meetings! Another big thank you to Laurie for all the time and effort put into this beautiful HAND-CRAFTED quilt!

I'm realising how fast the munchkin is growing and changing. She now reaches for her bottle, tried to put her dummy back in her mouth by herself, and wants my glass when I'm drinking. This week she had her first taste of solids: carrots!

This is her reaction:
Gimme more!!!!

And a last little gem. Awakening from her nap this morning....
Have a grand weekend!

Puppy Love and Squeals

Nap time has become a little more tricky recently, as our munchkin has realised there is a whole world out there to explore while she is sleeping... Right now she is grunting her way to sleep for morning nap. Anyway, we have found a new trick:

Yep, it looks like she is going to be a dog girl, like her mum! There is something about this dog that her other toys don't have. Maybe it's the size and shape that is a perfect fit for a cuddle! Maybe it's because it's one of the few that actually resembles the real thing (probably not). Maybe it smells like her mummy, as this was a pressie from Marc to me in the first month we were dating. He sent me a package from Switzerland, with the essentials: Swiss chocolate and a St Bernard puppy! I loved it, and now Tessa seems to have claimed it as her own. In any case, let's hope this trick lasts!

I think teething is beginning, as Tessa spends a lot of time industriously munching on plastic objects...

Grabbing her toes is also new-found fun:

And her new sound this month: squealing! Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

Christmas is a-coming...

The weather has gotten cold this weekend, which reminds us that Christmas is a-coming, and probably snow too! Tessa doesn't seem to mind being wrapped up tight to go out...!

Marc has been busy working on the living room, half of the new floor is down.
Pictures to come when it's finished.

Tessa is becoming more interested in adult food and drink!

And to finish off today's post with a little nostalgia.... I came across this catchy tune! Enjoy!

Have a great week!

Giggling girls

This is cute. Mummy and baby giggling together.
One of the best parts of the day!

Tessa also managed to roll over from tummy to back yesterday. It was very funny to see her surprised face! What just happened to me?

Highlights this week included an autumn walk at Signal-de-Bougy...

...and the arrival of Marc and Pierre's new pit-bikes. Do not be deceived by their mildly interested faces. They are very excited!

What's in my head..... part I

4 months old....

Last week included some changes as I started working again, two afternoons a week. Tessa gets to stay with her Granny while I'm working, so everyone is happy about that! She also hit the 4-month mark yesterday and has been working hard on rolling over but hasn't got there yet...

I finally got my camera working again, so I can take quality pics instead of the little ones on my phone. I enjoyed having fun with that, although Tessa got a bit fed up modeling I think!

I just love this little jacket so I'm making the most of it before it's too small!

Gimme something to eat!!

This is Tessa's usual activity when she should be napping!

Keeping her long hair out of her eyes. Also making her cute, cute, cute! I think she looks a bit like Karen did when she was little when her hair is pulled back. What do you think?

On Friday evening we celebrated Caro's birthday with some pumpkin carving. Marc did the spider, and mine is the 'welcome'. It was fun!

And finally, the pièce de résistance.... my first attempt at posting a video! This was at breakfast time this morning and she was a little sleepy still... and she has serious bed hair!

Well that was easy!

Have a great week!

I got the moves like Tessa....

Tessa is turning into quite a cheeky monkey! Her new moves include giggling when she should be feeding, and chattering away to us in the morning, telling us all about her nights! She is also trying to type along with me right now...

                                                       ve4w

That was Tessa's contribution. Not quite sure what it means! Her hair is now so long that it's constantly in her eyes if it's not tied back. She likes to sit up and look around at everyone in meeting. And she loves her daily stories more and more! She gets so excited when I open a book that she almost ripped out a page from my hymn book on Sunday, waving her arms in delight! It seems books are her favourite thing.

Well, I'd better go. Off to pick out new flooring for the living room. Yep, more rennovations!

Have a good week everyone.

Tessa

It's hard to believe Tessa is already 10 weeks old! Sorry I haven't posted for ages. Here are some pictures of her growing over the past couple of months. So many pictures to choose from, but these are some of my favourites.
